Weeds of cotton crops in the Ivory Coast

, : Weeds of cotton crops in the Ivory Coast. Comptes Rendus du Ve Colloque International sur l' Ecologie et la Biologie des Mauvaises Herbes, Dijon, 1976: ?; 121-127

The weed population in cotton crops showed a certain homogeneity in the three different regions of the country. Among all the weeds encountered, 43% are of major importance; they belong to 11 of the 24 families counted and over 50% are Graminaceae or Compositae. From the start of planting weeds emerge in great numbers to the detriment of the crop seedlings. Some which have a long growth cycle are joined by late-emerging weeds with vigorous growth habit.
