Attraction of bee pollinators of orchids by scented lures in the plains, areas of trees and shrubs, and tropical rain forests of the Manaus area

, : Attraction of bee pollinators of orchids by scented lures in the plains, areas of trees and shrubs, and tropical rain forests of the Manaus area. Ciencia e Cultura 28(7): 767-773

The compounds used in the lures were 1,8-cineole, eugenol, vanillin and methyl salicylate. The bees attracted by these lures in the Manaus area, Brazil, included a new species of Euplusia, 3 species of Euglossa previously found in other areas, and other known Euglossini. Euglossa stilbonota was carrying pollinia of the orchids Scuticaria steelii and Catasetum species.
