Bee poisoning characteristics of microencapsulated methyl parathion

, : Bee poisoning characteristics of microencapsulated methyl parathion. Gleanings in Bee Culture 106(8): 382-385

Further studies on Penncap-M (microencapsulated methyl parathion), showed that it causes a delayed-action break in honeybee brood cycles, about 2 weeks after application. Penncap-M toxicity was retained in pollen stored in the hive from one season to the next. The microcapsules had a stronger tendency than standard powder formulations to adhere to the hairs of foraging bees. (For earlier results see e.g. AA 961L, 962/78.) P.
