Blueberry adaptation to mineral soils: preliminary studies

For three months, seedlings from six crosses involving various species of Vaccinium were grown in five different soil types. Growth was best on the productive blueberry soil type. For all soils, the hexaploid V. ashei and tetraploids from a complex cross involving V. darrowii, V. ashei and V. corymbosum showed best growth.
