Bottlebrush buckeye adds a showy display to the landscape

, : Bottlebrush buckeye adds a showy display to the landscape. American Nurseryman 146(6): 10, 117-120

The physical characteristics of Aesculus parviflora and its cultural requirements are described. Cuttings were taken on 23 April, 1976, when leaves were half mature size, dipped in a solution of IBA at 1000-20 000 p.p.m. in 50% alcohol and inserted in a 1:1 peat perlite medium under intermittent mist. When assessed in mid-May the controls and cuttings treated with 1000 p.p.m. IBA showed 70% and 80% rooting, respectively. The highest IBA concentrations proved toxic.
