Crop management studies in rainfed maize under mid-hill conditions

, : Crop management studies in rainfed maize under mid-hill conditions. Indian Journal of Agronomy 23(3): 185-191

Maize grown in the kharif seasons of 1974-5 under mid-hill conditions of Himachal Pradesh gave higher grain yields at a density of 50 000 plants than at 60 000 - 70 000 plants/ha. Yields were higher with 1.5 kg simazine a.i./ha than with 2 hand-weedings in 1 yr, but the reverse held true in the 2nd yr.
