Effects of gamma -radiation on the entomogenous nematode, Neoaplectana carpocapsae

, : Effects of gamma -radiation on the entomogenous nematode, Neoaplectana carpocapsae. Journal of Invertebrate Pathology 33(1): 121-123

Infective-stage juveniles of the agriotos strain of Neoaplectana carpocapsae were exposed to gamma -radiation from a cesium-137 source at a rate of 730 rad/min. The lethal effects of irradiation were generally not immediate. The time lag for pronounced mortality to be apparent decreased as exposure dose increased. A dose of 8 X 105 rad extended post exposure time for complete mortality to 28 days compared to 7 days at 1.4 X 106 rad.
