Effects of light and chlorcholine chloride on winter cereal resistance to physiological exhaustion observed under snow

, : Effects of light and chlorcholine chloride on winter cereal resistance to physiological exhaustion observed under snow. Fiziologiya Rastenii 23(3): 593-599

In winter wheat Mironovskaya 808 frost-hardened at 2-3 deg C, chlorophyll content was only slightly reduced at the beginning of a deep snow cover, simulated in a phytotron by darkness, high RH (>90%) and a temp. of 0-2 deg , but after 2 months of the treatment the chlorophyll and sugar contents were much reduced and the plants died off. Daily illumination for 15 min with a low light intensity of 100-150 lx increased plant resistance to exhaustion.
