Effects of low level prenatal cadmium exposure on trace metal body burden and behavior in Sprague-Dawley rats

, : Effects of low level prenatal cadmium exposure on trace metal body burden and behavior in Sprague-Dawley rats. Trace element metabolism in man and animals 3: 549-552

Male and female Sprague-Dawley rats were given Purina Chow and water without or with CD2+ 17.2 mu g/ml before gestation, before and during gestation or during gestation only. Reproductive performance, neonatal birthweight, body trace metals and neonatal activity were studied. The birthweight of Cd-exposed young was less than that of control young, except for those born to dams exposed only before gestation.
