Effects of method and rate of seeding on yield of Brassica napus

, : Effects of method and rate of seeding on yield of Brassica napus. Canadian Journal of Plant Science 58(2): 549-550

In field trials in Saskatchewan in 1976, drill-sown rape Tower produced a higher av. seed yield of 1.89 t/ha than broadcast-sown rape which produced an av. seed yield of 1.62 t/ha. The difference in yield between the 2 sowing methods was most noticeable at low sowing rates.

Hypertrophy of the heart was found at slaughter in 274 (0.65%) of 42 190 pigs slaughtered at 8-9 months of age. Stenosis of the aortic cone was diagnosed in 240 of these 275 hearts. The lesions are described and their pathogenesis discussed.
