Hereditary arthrogryposis in Yorkshire piglets

, : Hereditary arthrogryposis in Yorkshire piglets. Dissertation Abstracts International 39B(9): 4284B-4285B

Breeding trials with affected swine produced piglets with tetramelic arthrogryposis and kyphosis. The clinical findings in experimental animals were stillborn pigs. Clinical findings in sows were dystocia, although this was not considered a factor in fetal death. Other gross findings were generalized subcutaneous oedema and generalized oedema and hypoplasia of skeletal muscle with dysplastic articular cartilages of the affected extremities.
