Hydroponic culture of tomatoes by NFT (nutrient film technique)

, : Hydroponic culture of tomatoes by NFT (nutrient film technique). Revue Suisse de Viticulture d' Arboriculture et d' Horticulture 10(5): 239-243

Two tomato cvs, Lucy (mid-early) and Sanvira (late) were grown with a day temperature of 22 deg C and night temperatures of 6 or 12 deg. The lower temperature retarded fruit maturity more with Lucy than with Sanvira. Fruits from plants grown in soil (standard greenhouse method) were more acid and contained fewer reducing sugars than those cultivated by NFT, but there were no significant differences in dry matter percentage.
