Influence of rapeseed meal on the eating quality of chicken. 1. Subjective evaluation by a trained taste panel and objective measurements

, : Influence of rapeseed meal on the eating quality of chicken. 1. Subjective evaluation by a trained taste panel and objective measurements. Poultry Science 58(1): 148-155

1. Control diet was based on wheat 62, soya bean oilmeal 28 and stabilized fat 3%. The other 3 diets each had fat 6.3%, one with 5% Soka-Floc, another with 15% Span rapeseed oilmeal and another with 15% Span meal, 5% herring meal, 0.1% DL-methionine and 0.05 choline chloride, at the expense mainly of wheat and soya. Diets had equal nitrogen and energy. Each was given freely to a group of 50 male White Mountain X Hubbard chickens in each of 3 trials from hatching to 8 weeks old.
