2. Diets were those described in the preceding abst. White Mountain X Hubbard broiler chickens given the diets were killed at 8 weeks old, frozen and stored for 6 weeks. The 144 households were each given half a chicken of each treatment, to be defrosted, cooked and tasted. Chickens given rapeseed oilmeal and herring meal scored lower for smell, flavour and acceptability than those given the other 2 diets.
