Influence of root temperature on the growth of lettuce and tomato. Effect on the lipid composition

, : Influence of root temperature on the growth of lettuce and tomato. Effect on the lipid composition. Annales Agronomiques 30(5): 431-442

Cultivar Mantilla lettuce and H63-5 tomato plants were grown at root temperatures of 12 deg or 22 deg C. At the lower temperature the growth of lettuce remained normal but that of tomato was less than at the higher temperature. The slower growth of tomato plants was correlated with the lipid content of the roots.
