The structures of multinational corporations are discussed: phases of product cycle models are used to explain their occurrence and worldwide expansion, and the roles of the multinationals in agricultural research and the agro-industries are examined. Concentration in the production equipment industry is also considered, and an historical analysis of the share of particular countries in the world market for fertilizers and tractors is included.
