Mineralogy of the predominant soils in tropical and sub-tropical regions

, : Mineralogy of the predominant soils in tropical and sub-tropical regions. Mineral Nutrition of Legumes in Tropical and Subtropical Soils Proceedings of a workshop held at CSIRO Cunningham Laboratory, Brisbane, January 1978 Andrew, CS; Kamprath, EJ Editors: 21-36

The predominant soils in tropical and sub-tropical regions contain low activity clays, which are minerals with pH-dependent surface charge and which differ from high activity clays in the origin of surface charge. Low activity clays generally possess low effective CEC and low plasticity index.
