Natural grasslands in the Slavonia and Baranja areas of the Sava valley which comprised 30% of the total area in 1945 have been ploughed over large areas and today make up only 9.2% of the total area. 10 plant communities found in these grasslands, their present distribution and potential use are briefly described.
