The presence of the poisonous spider Latrodectus dahli Levi in the USSR was detected for the first time in the course of studying collections made in the southern parts of Uzbekistan, particularly the Kashkadar region. The spider typically lives in unoccupied burrows of various species of rodents, and makes a simple web.
