, : Observations on somatic chromosomes and karyomorphology of some species of genus Aloe Linn. Biovigyanam 5(1): 29-38

Information is presented on the chromosome morphology of A. barbadensis, A. lateritia, A. christiani, A. aristata, A. ferox, A. arborescens, A. jacksonii, A. gracilis, A. ciliaris and an unidentified species similar in some respects to A. barbadensis. A. ciliaris had 2n = 42 and A. gracilis 2n = 28, the remaining species having a diploid number (2n = 14).
