Persistent negative serological response in a mare infected with equine infectious anaemia virus

, : Persistent negative serological response in a mare infected with equine infectious anaemia virus. Recueil de Medecine Veterinaire 156(1): 55-63

In 1971, at a stables of 300 serum-producing horses in the South of France, positive reactions to the Coggins test, in the absence of any observed clinical symptoms, were demonstrated in 59% of the animals. The infection was apparently eliminated within a year by culling all positive reactors and quarantining all purchased animals. For the following six years there were no further positive reactions.
