Preliminary studies on mineral uptake by plants

, : Preliminary studies on mineral uptake by plants. Bitki 2(4): 444-452

When maize, squash and bean seedlings grown for 15 days in nutrient solutions containing 35-labelled MgSO4 were removed, washed and placed in distilled water for one week, high radioactivity counts were obtained for the plants, indicating the uptake of S35 by the roots, and also for the distilled water, indicating an exudation from the roots into the external medium.
