, : Reproductive behavior of Brahman cows. Circular, Agricultural Experiment Stations, Florida University (S-237): 5

Data are tabulated on calving rate, weaning rate and calf mortality for 1038 Brahman females , recorded between 1943 and 1966. During this period, calving rate averaged 74.3%, calves weaned 71.5%, and calf mortality 3.8%. At 2, 3, 4, 5, 6-12 and 13-17 yr of age, females not lactating during the breeding season had calving rates of 65.4, 85.7, 85.7, 91.7, 82.7 and 85.7% resp. At 3, 4, 5, 6-12 and 13-17 yr, lactating females had calving rates of 49.5, 68.2, 81.6, 78.7 and 68.0% resp.
