Seminal adventious roots - a permanent integral part of the root system of the maize (Zea mays L.)

, : Seminal adventious roots - a permanent integral part of the root system of the maize (Zea mays L.). Biologia, Czechoslovakia 33(1): 51-56

Studies were made on the structure and function of seminal adventitious roots (developed on the mesocotyl) in maize. The areas of cross section of the whole root, cortex and stele of seedlings and mature plants were measured. There was no significant change in area with age.
