Some results of grid-mapping of horse flies (Diptera, Tabanidae) in Czechoslovakia

, : Some results of grid-mapping of horse flies (Diptera, Tabanidae) in Czechoslovakia. Dipterologica bohemoslovaca 1 Proceedings of the IVth meeting of Czechoslovak dipterists: 119-142

An attempt is made for the first time in Czechoslovakia to illustrate the distribution of the tabanids of the country by means of a grid-mapping system derived from geographic coordinates. The results are shown on 18 maps, and 16 species are considered. Of these, 7 are common and widely distributed, 5 are at the limit of their distribution, 2 are relicts restricted to certain biotopes, and the remaining 2 are species with a confused area of distribution.
