Studies on the levels of common and halo blight seed infection occurring in the field

, : Studies on the levels of common and halo blight seed infection occurring in the field. Australasian Plant Pathology 8(3): 29-30

Pseudomonas phaseolicola and Xanthomonas phaseoli do not overwinter in the soil under the conditions prevalent in East Gippsland, Vict., and it is probable that infected seed is the only source of primary infection. Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) seed was collected from plots of a spray trial, using copper hydroxide in 3 different schedules, and planted in pots in the glasshouse to assess halo and common blight infection levels.
