The influence of farrowing system and management on the economics of pig production to weaning

, : The influence of farrowing system and management on the economics of pig production to weaning. Research Bulletin, Agricultural Experiment Station, University of Missouri Columbia (1030): 10

145 crossbred sows were assigned to the following 3 housing systems for farrowing: (1) a building with farrowing crates on slats, and with automatic feeding; (2) a building with stalls on solid concrete and a slatted pen behind the stalls, and with hand feeding; (3) individual outdoor houses with slatted wood platforms in front, and with self feeders.
