The supply response of sugar cane in Thailand


, : The supply response of sugar cane in Thailand. Discussion Paper Series, Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University (65): 38

Thailand is the fifth leading sugar exporter after the Philippines, Australia, Brazil and Cuba. After a short historical summary of the growth of the sugar industry, a supply response model is formulated and tested using postwar data. Regional differences in response are examined and the impact of government policy considered.
