The susceptibility of Rahmani sheep to experimental infection with Pasteurella multocida (Roberts type 1)

, : The susceptibility of Rahmani sheep to experimental infection with Pasteurella multocida (Roberts type 1). Journal of the Egyptian Veterinary Medical Association 35(3): 95-100

A calf inoculated s/c with a single dose of 25 X 105 viable P. multocida Roberts type 1 died within 36 hours with classical signs of haemorrhagic septicaemia. Groups of four Rahmani sheep given 1/100, five, or ten calf doses of the same organism showed no clinical or PM signs, and the agent was only re-isolated from one group inoculated s/c with five calf doses. Serum samples from this group, and another inoculated intranasally with the same dose, contained antibodies.
