The transformation of rice production in Sierra Leone: an application of cost-benefit analysis

, : The transformation of rice production in Sierra Leone: an application of cost-benefit analysis. Rivista di Economia Agraria 34(2): 341-380

The Government of Sierra Leone has been trying to augment its domestic rice production in order to increase self-sufficiency and reduce its foreign debt. A first attempt in this direction was to create public ploughing centres. This was a partial approach and the results were modest. The present study deals with a global approach. A project was found that incorporates a series of co-ordinated investment proposals.
