A further collection of newly bred inbred maize lines

, : A further collection of newly bred inbred maize lines. Vedecke Prace Vyskumneho Ustavu Kukurice (10): 23-33

Among 48 lines, studied in the ninth, tenth and eleventh inbred generations, 25% were very early to early, 71% were midearly and 4% were midlate. All lines were adapted to Czechoslovakian conditions and of potential use in hybrid breeding in that country. In a laboratory test, half the lines appeared to be resistant to cold during the seedling stage. Ears over 13 cm in length were produced in nearly 30% of the lines, and 40% had more than 15 rows of grain per ear.
