A general survey of the economic problems of agriculture

, : A general survey of the economic problems of agriculture. Revue de l' Agriculture 33(6): 1227-1235

Belgium's main agricultural problems are chronically inadequate incomes, both at sector and individual farm level. The reason for this situation lies in the continued excess of production over demand, which depresses prices. Many potentially employable people are leaving agriculture, but this does not ensure adequate incomes to those who remain.
