Nag, A., 1980: A generalised soil-crop matrix for India. Indian Journal of Economics 60(239): 443-461
Suitability of crops for different areas is, to a large extent, controlled by climate interacting with soil. Such interaction may be shown either by a soil-climate-crop matrix, or by superimposing on one another two separate matrices, one showing soil crop interaction, the other showing climate crop interaction. A matrix of 10 generally occurring soil types and 20 major Indian crops is developed. A climate-crop matrix is also constructed.
