The differences between the various types of legislative text (law, ordinance, etc.) used in the German Federal Republic and EEC are explained, and the German Food Code and the guidelines of the German Food Law and Food Science Association (Bund fur Lebensmittelrecht und Lebensmittelkunde) are also mentioned. Advice is given on what dairy manufacturers should do in the event of complaints, and finally the lines along which the law on milk products is likely to develop in the future are briefly discussed.
