An anterior-posterior gynandromorph of Anopheles gambiae Giles sens. strict. (A. gambiae species A) with the anterior part female and the posterior male occurred in a laboratory strain. When the insect was given the opportunity to feed, normal penetrance of the skin occurred but there was no evidence for blood being taken up.
