A histogenetic study of green-wood grafting between compatible combinations of Vitis

, : A histogenetic study of green-wood grafting between compatible combinations of Vitis. Vitis 20(2): 85-92

Vitis vinifera Carignan was green grafted on V. berlandieri X V. rupestris 99 Richter rootstock. Various tissues from both components contributed to the formation of the callus. During union development newly formed tissues originated mainly from the cortical parenchyma cells and from the cambial initials. The relative importance of the different tissues in the development of the union varied according to the orientation of the cuts.
