In further studies to determine whether indigenous or imported mosquitoes were responsible for the cases of malaria reported in the Paris district (see 2 preceding abstracts), the possibility of the survival of Anopheles vectors in cabins or pressurised luggage stores in aircraft was tested during an actual flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris; mosquitoes stored in different conditions (in dry or damp atmospheres and inside baggage) were able to survive transport for 4 days.
