Details are given of an emulsion that has been used successfully in the laboratory in Brazil to kill and preserve immature stages of insects, particularly the larvae of Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Hymenoptera, Diptera and Neuroptera. It consists of 1 part kerosene, 2 parts glacial acetic acid, 7 parts 95% ethyl alcohol and 0.1 part Triton X-171.
