A large stride in the right direction

, : A large stride in the right direction. Tara 33(387): 818-819

A description, including a schematic flow diagram, is given of the Hamme-Holler BMR 100, a combined form-fill-seal machine for edge-sealed pouches, incorporating the 'Neutralfill' gas flushing system developed by the firm of Hesser. This system incorporates an acoustic signal when a specific, preset residual O2 level (usually 1%) is exceeded in the pouch after the flushing process. Applications include infant and dietetic foods and dried milk.
