A longitudinal epidemiological survey of relative weight at age 25, 50 and 60 in the Glostrup population of men and women born in 1914. Ten-year mortality and ten-year incidence of cardiovascular manifestations in relation to relative weight at age 50 and age 25

, : A longitudinal epidemiological survey of relative weight at age 25, 50 and 60 in the Glostrup population of men and women born in 1914. Ten-year mortality and ten-year incidence of cardiovascular manifestations in relation to relative weight at age 50 and age 25. Danish Medical Bulletin 28(3): 106-116

The population in Glostrup born in 1914 consisted of 514 men and 461 women, of whom 802 underwent a baseline examination at 50 years old in 1964 and 666 underwent a follow-up examination in 1974 at 60 years old. At the 1964 survey retrospective knowledge was obtained about weight at 25 years old. Obesity was expressed as the relative weight in relation to Natvig's ideal weight tables and as body mass index (weight/height2). The relative weight in women at 25 years old was 102%, in men 104%.
