Volume of milk taken by the infant was found by weighing for women breast feeding their 1st infant in March and April 1981 in Victoria, Australia. A table shows volume of milk and its energy content on the 5th to 7th days and after 4, 8 and 12 weeks of lactation for all 22 women and for the 17, 14 and 12 still lactating, and at each of those 4 stages of lactation for the 11 women who breast fed for 12 weeks or longer.Other references
