A low-cost multi-purpose data acquisition device based on a microprocessor

, : A low-cost multi-purpose data acquisition device based on a microprocessor. Agricultural Meteorology 24(2): 111-116

A low-cost microprocessor system, which can be assembled easily from readily-available components, was tested for its ability to serve as a multi-purpose device for recording experimental data in a wheat field in 1979. The transportable microprocessor system was powered by car batteries and recorded meteorological data in the field. It worked without any trouble for 4 months and was more reliable than conventional paper recorders.
