A machine for clean barking

, : A machine for clean barking. Lesnaya Promyshlenost' (7): 16-17

Details are given of the design and technical specifications of the OK63-2 installation developed in the USSR for clean barking of sleeper-grade logs and electricity transmission poles (before preservative treatment). The installation incorporates a coarse-barking head (5 barking blades, 3 speeds) and a clean-barking head (4 rotary cutters, 2 speeds). The output per shift is 150 m3 with logs of mean diam. 24 cm. The barker can deal with logs 14-53 cm in diam. and 2.73-7.5 m long.
