A marking method for Plautia stali Scott (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) using a handy micro-grinder with waterproof ink

, : A marking method for Plautia stali Scott (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) using a handy micro-grinder with waterproof ink. Applied Entomology and Zoology 15(2): 186-187

Plautia stali Scott is a very important pest of tree fruits in Japan. A method of marking the adults that was devised for ecological studies on the bug is described. The bugs were anaesthetised with carbon dioxide and the surface of the pronotum and scutellum was scraped slightly with a micro-grinder.
