A method for artificial insemination of Macrobrachium prawns and its potential use in inheritance and hybridization studies

, : A method for artificial insemination of Macrobrachium prawns and its potential use in inheritance and hybridization studies. Proceedings of the Tenth Annual Meeting, World Mariculture Society, Honolulu, Hawaii, January 22-26, 1979: 403-418

The insemination procedure involved mechanical extrusion of sperm masses and attachment of them to females , and had proved successful for crossing M. rosenbergii and M. acanthurus. With this method, >1 female can be bred simultaneously by using spermatozoa from a single male.
