A method for bleaching plant tissue samples prior to scintillation counting

, : A method for bleaching plant tissue samples prior to scintillation counting. Laboratory Practice 29(1): 28-29

A persistent problem in preparing samples of radioactive plant tissue for scintillation counting is that of reducing the colour quenching to acceptable levels. In a study involving 14C-labelled ABA, severe colour quenching was caused by pigments, which could not easily be separated from the radioactive compounds.
