A method for marking screwworm flies

, : A method for marking screwworm flies. Folia Entomologica Mexicana: 55-56

The authors briefly describe a method developed at Mission, Texas, to mark adults of Cochliomyia hominivorax (Coquerel). Most adults that had fed on a sugar solution containing 0.01-1% sodium fluorescin (which is non-toxic and readily detected, even at low concentrations, under ultraviolet light) remained marked for the rest of their lives.
