A method for studying microbial activity in intact soil cores

, : A method for studying microbial activity in intact soil cores. Journal of Soil Science 31(4): 685-688

CO2 evolution from soil is generally considered to be an indication of actively metabolizing biomass. A method for studying CO2 evolution from intact soil cores is described. The possiblity of using the method in studies of biomass using fumigation techniques is suggested.
