A method for testing the mosaic resistance of beet under greenhouse conditions

, : A method for testing the mosaic resistance of beet under greenhouse conditions. Biuletyn Instytutu Hodowli i Aklimatyzacji Roslin (142): 25-26

Seedlings in pots, having reached the stage of two pairs of leaves in spring or early summer, are inoculated mechanically (with the aid of carborundum) with a homogenate of leaves from plants infected with beet mosaic virus. Plants which show no symptoms a month later are retained, reinoculated and repotted or planted out. Plants still free of symptoms in the autumn may be retained for multiplication.
