A method of collecting flying insects using an attachment to a moving driven vehicle (the aerial collector)

, : A method of collecting flying insects using an attachment to a moving driven vehicle (the aerial collector). Turkiye Bitki Koruma Dergisi 3(4): 245-250

A method of collecting flying insects is described that was used for faunistic studies in Anatolia, Turkey, for 40 days in July-August 1979. The apparatus involved consists basically of 2 trapezium-shaped tunnels of netting on frames, attached side by side to the roof of a car; the insects are forced inside by the current of air caused by the movement of the car. It is a modification of apparatus previously used by J. Dlabola in Turkey and by L.
